My 2011 Wish List

So now that a new year is about to start, I thought I'd make a list of some products I'd like to accumulate over the next 12 months. I feel like I need to be "cosmetically refreshed" if that makes sense. I mean, I purchase beauty products on a regular basis but am often left feeling ho hum about them. It's not that I'm always let down by the things I try but often I'm left wanting more or I realize what I chose is not a good fit for my skin or hair type, tone etc. I want to try to make some wiser choices and purchase some things I think I'll get a lot of use out of or products that suit me better. I'm tired of grabbing things on a whim and realizing I could have done without it. I'm accumulating too much it's such a waste. So here is a list of some things I think I'll really enjoy using. Any opinions on these products would be great appreciated!

1. MAC blush in Melba: My skin is warm toned so I think this would be a great shade for me. It's gorgeous!

2. Smashbox Blush Rush in Flush: I've had my eye on this blush all year but haven't allowed myself to buy it. (Trying to use up quite a bit that I have already)I think this is the most gorgeous shade of pink blush I've seen. I've heard great things about it as well, that it's leaves a nice, natural flush.

3: Too Faced Natural Eye Kit/Naked Eye Kit: These palettes look amazing, the shades are right up my alley! I really think these would be a worthwhile investment.

4: Benefit Hoola: I'm so over the orange bronzers. I want this as I can't contour with the orange, glittery bronzers I have now.

5: LiBrow: My poor brows (or lack thereof...) are thin, sparse and light. I really need some serious help and have heard great things about this as well as LiLash. I'm getting so tired or having to fill in my brows. It's an expensive product but if it will help my brows even a little, I think it will be worth it!

6: Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Candlelight: I'm a sucker for highlighter/luminizer and this looks so beautiful!

7: Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey: I love dark lip colours and have read many great things about this. Apparently it comes off very sheer and I like that. As much as I love dark lip shades, I find a light wash of colour or a stain is nicer than a harsh lipstick. I love the juicy, "just bit into a fresh berry" look.

8: MAC Creme Cup Lipstick: Looks like the perfect baby pink shade to me. I feel oh so girly when I wear these shades of pink.

9: The Body Shop Big and Curvy Mascara: I've read some pretty good reviews of this mascara. I love the look of tapered wand. I tend to prefer the longer, thinner, tapered wands as I find it easier to coat every little lash.

10: Benefit Thrrrob Boxed Powder: Another beautiful pink shade that I've been wanting to try forever.

So, there it is, my wish list so far. Would love to hear opinions on these products!

The Body Shop Almond Oil Daily Hand And Nail Cream

So I thought I would share one of my holy grail products today. As you can see by the post title it's the Body Shops Almond Oil Daily Hand And Nail Cream. I discovered this about 2 years ago and have repurchased it a few times. I'm not one for thick, greasy, wet feeling lotions or creams. I hate that greasy, damp feeling with a passion. If you're like me, you don't have to worry about that with this cream! It absorbs super quick and leaves your hands feeling SO soft, not greasy at all. The second thing I love about it is the scent. It smells of almond shells. I find it a very natural scent although it can be a little strong smelling depending on the amount you use. A little goes a long way with this and I only use what I need so the scent isn't bothersome to me. I actually find myself sniffing my hands sometimes. The only con for me is the price. Here in Canada you'll pay $16.00 for a tube. It is expensive but I love it so much that it's worth it to me. A couple of months ago they actually had a sale at TBS and had it on for $8.00 per tube. I bought 2 so I'm good for a while. So, if you're looking for a great hand cream that doesn't leave you feeling greasy and don't mind paying the price, check it out! Definitely pick one up if you see it on sale!

Looking Forward To.......

The Crystal Method show in two weeks! Picked up our tickets yesterday and I am sooo excited! I can't believe The Crystal Method will be playing in Halifax not to mention two buildings behind my apartment building! So convenient. I've been a fan since my teens so this is a big thing for me! I don't know what I'm going to wear though. I want to be comfortable as I will be dancing and I need to wear something light as well. I'm in desperate need of new clothes anyway so I'll have to do a little shopping I think!

Shame on me!

Wow, I really suck at this blog thing don't I? I honestly had good intentions when I started this. Lets just say that life has been a little hectic the last few months but I really want to stick with it this time around. I need a hobby and somewhere I can come to talk about life and things I find interesting. I can't wait to get some more reviews done. I have some products that I absolutely love that I can't wait to share with others. Now lets try this again shall we?

My First Review:Rusk Coral Therapy Marine Nutrient Treatment

So I've chosen to do my first review on a hair treatment I've been loving. As the title says, it's the Rusk Coral Therapy Marine Nutrient Treatment. I've been using this treatment for about two months now. I picked this up at Winners for $6.99. When I got home I checked the Rusk website for more info on the product and it says the suggested retail price is $16.00. I got it for less than half the suggested price! I have to say I absolutely love this product! I picked it up because I knew I was going to be lightening my medium brown hair back to blonde and would need something to help nurse it back to health. This treatment is very thick, I was expecting it to be a little more watery but was pleasantly surprised. A little goes a long way on my fine, thin hair. I use this in the shower after shampooing and let it sit for 2-3 mins. You can also apply it to wet or dry hair and leave it for longer or overnight under a shower cap. It has made my hair feel so much healthier and silkier not to mention the smell is amazing. It smells strongly of some kind of fresh fruit, peach maybe? I think this has made it's way into my holy grail list. I don't care if I have to pay full price for it in the future, I will still buy it!

Greetings!

So I've finally decided to create a blog. I had been contemplating doing so for quite a while now and decided to get my butt into gear. I love cosmetics and beauty products and love reading others beauty blogs and watching their videos. I thought I may as well give it a go myself. I really think I'm going to enjoy this and can't wait to chat and connect with others who share the same interests. Expect mostly product reviews and hauls as well as photos and talk about life in general. I really hope I can make this interesting and helpful for others. I'm looking forward to getting started and will have some reviews up soon!
